GMB Congress 2026: Members Driving Change
From the 7th June to the 11th June Delegates from across the UK came together in Blackpool for GMB Congress 2026 to debate policy, share experiences, and set the union’s priorities for the year ahead.
Throughout the week, discussions focused on the issues affecting members most, including pay, workplace rights, public services, equality, and health and safety. Delegates spoke passionately about the need to secure fair wages, protect jobs, and ensure workers have a strong voice in their workplaces.
Congress also reaffirmed the importance of solidarity, with delegates united in opposing discrimination, racism, and all forms of inequality. There was a clear message that trade unions must continue to campaign for fairness both inside and outside the workplace.
As always, Congress demonstrated the strength of member-led decision-making. The debates and motions passed during the week will help shape GMB policy and campaigning priorities in the months ahead, ensuring that members remain at the heart of everything the union does.
